"Cherry Nest" products

Today I’m so excited to share with you what I have made with "Cherry Nest" newest products!Cherry Nest  is an on line store which sells digital images in pdf files that you can download and print over and over again.  You can use it in any artsy crafty project (as my friend Emma said) isn't that wonderful?
So here’s what I made with its school products:

The word "ΣΧΟΛΕΙΟ" means "SCHOOL"!

For the above layout, I have used these products: Orange doted paper

And a mini album...

Have a nice day!!!

"You & me" -Bird is the word & new team members!!!

Hello blogoland!!!

How are you all doing? Here in Greece things are very tough...especially with all the strikes by the public transportation...There is SO much traffic on the roads and my job is faraway from home...grrrr....anyway...

I have some exciting news to share with you!
"Bird Is The Word" has added new talented members to the team!!!
Here is the announcement:
Our new design team members have been chosen!  They are seven, lovely and super talented ladies!!

Keren Tamir

Emma Stafrace

Leila Cassimira

Gwen Wruck

Anna Zaprzelska/Brises

Marilyn Rivera

Melenia

Mary Thomas (Designing Sketches)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome on board ladies! I was so happy to see Melenia's name in there as She is Greek and we know each other in person!!! They all have a special style to cover everyones tastes and they will be a great asset to BITW!!! Their work is so inspiring!!! I can't wait to see your creations!

and now...for the new word...actually two words:

"YOU & ME"

Please create your project using these words either as the title or in your journaling.  That is it! Oh, one last thing... please remember to give Bird is the Word credit in your blog.  At the end of the challenge our design team will vote and the winner will receive a kit from Tidbitz In Time.  We also have featured winners who receive a blog badge from Bird is the Word.
And one last little piece of information.  We have revamped our voting process!  Winners will now be announced on the opposite Sunday as the challenge is released.  For example, the MEMORY challenge ended on Sunday, so votes will be submitted and counted by next Sunday...October 2nd.  We will announce the winner of the challenge on that day.

I made a card this time since it is "card day" this Saturday using Echo park's paper, sizzix dies, Jolee's stickers and Petaloo flowers!

I LOOOOOOVE this technique and although I knew how to do it for a long time, this was the first time I actually tried it and I was impressed!

Mini tutorial:
1) You paint the chipboard with acrylic paint
2) You apply crackle accents on top
3)  When it is dry, you paint it all with another color
4)  and  immediately, before it dries, you take it off with a baby wipe.
The second color stays in the crackles and you get  this awesome effect!!!
Isn't it cool????
P.S. I am entering this card to "Get Creative" card challenge since I used their beautiful sketch!!

and to "Scrapbookers Anonymous" for using chipboard!

I hope you enjoyed the post! Have a nice week!!!

My 1st mini album for Enjoy Scrapping!

Hi Everyone!

A bit about scrapbooking & me:

I have always loved mini albums! My 1st project EVER was the guest book for my daughter's baptism in 2008 and I thought that my money (for the supplies) would not be wasted because I would make a lot of mini albums to keep my kid's photos...however, life had other plans for me...when people here in Greece saw my guest books (we call them "wishbooks"), they started giving me orders so I was so busy that I never had the time to actually make a mini album as I wanted from the beginning....and a year ago (2010) I made my 1st layout and got hooked, so... again No mini album! Thank God Lena asked me to make one and let me tell you...I had SO much fun making it! And it is such a small treasure on my kid's shelf! I LOOOVE it! Not so much of how it looks but for the precious memories inside!!!

To make this album I used the "Blosson Soup Kit" from "Enjoy Scrapping" ! And there are still so many die cuts, papers, stickers left that I could make more mini albums! It Rocks! And it can be used for either girl or a boy!

There is a new challenge up at "Enjoy Scrapping blog" where you have to make a mini album! Lena (the owner) is VERY generous with the prizes so it would be great to see you participate!

So do you like my first attempt? I would love to hear what you think!
I hope you will be lenient.
Take care everyone!!!
p.s. If you are wondering where I find the time, the answer is that,
I stopped making so many guest books...lol
I am also participating in the "ScrapFIT" challenge for using buttons!
and to "Paper creations" for buttons and bows!

September 15th Challenge + YOUR CHANCE TO PICK THE WINNER

Welcome to our next challenge for the month of September! The members of the Design Team have been thinking of ways to throw some twists in how we pick the winner. We thought it would be fun for you all out there to pick the winner! This challenge will end on the 29th of September , which is 2 weeks from today and you will all have a chance to vote for the winner and Top 5 projects for one whole day on the 30th of September before the new challenge is posted on the 1st of October.

"Share"*Bird is the word"

I would like to thank you all for your lovely comments! They make my day! I would love to visit your blogs and leave some love, but I can't always find the time to do so...I am so sorry! This past week I had both my children with fever (laryngitis) and so many projects to finish...so I hope you understand... I really appreciate your support! I am so lucky to have made so many friends around the world through blogging and scrapbooking! It's really amazing! Thank you!

Enough of that....Let's go to the fun stuff!!!
A new word is revealed at "Bird is the word" challenge blog....
"SHARE"

As you will see in our design team examples, this word can be used in many, many ways in many different directions.

To participate, please use the word SHARE on a layout or project as your titling or journaling and link your image up to our blog.  Also, please remember to give Bird is the Word credit on your blog when posting your  image.  At the end of the challenge, a winner and featured winners will be chosen by our design team.  The winner will receive a prize from Tidbitz In Time.

And here is my take...You must be tired of my wedding photos but I am trying to make an album...sorry...hehe

I used the sketch and color combo from "Sketchy Thursdays" and I am entering so I could hopefully be their guest designer next month!

I don't usually use these colors and I am really happy I had the chance to do so!
I loved playing with this combo! I hope you liked it!

Thanks for your visit!
Have a great creative week!!!

Guest Designer for "Berry71bleu Pages"

Hello sweet friends and followers!

I had the honor and the luck to be invited by the sweetest person Marivic Clifton to guest design for her blog "Berry71bleu Pages". She owns an ETSY store with unique handmade tags and layouts! She was kind and generous enough to send me two of her tags to make two layouts and a pizza box full of yummy papers and embellishments! THANK you so much Marivic!!! I appreciate it!

The challenge in her blog for September, is to be inspired by this photo and also create 3 handmade flowers. I made 3 flowers in my second layout!

The colors I used are similar but after taking pictures of my projects, the colors are not as in real life....sorry...

that cute little chipboard butterfly is Imaginarium designs!

And here is a small tutorial on how to make the flowers!

Use a flower die, or 3 different sized flower punches, or even  cut by hand, 2 sets of 3 flowers.
Also cut (once) 3 tule flowers.

Spray them with little water and crumple them.

Put them all together like this (2 big 1 tule-2medium 1tule-2 small 1 tule)

And use a stapler to hold them together!

In the center you can put a bling, a button, a brad,
whatever you like and it is ready just as simple as that!

With that layout I am entering My Minds Eye sketch challenge
and to ScrapFIT for using strips!

Thanks for visiting! I am sorry for the long post!
Enjoy your weekend and have fun scrapping!!!
Hugsss!!!
